Toronto returns to Ricoh Coliseum to host Rochester this afternoon after wrapping up a nine-game road stretch with a 2-1 win over the Amerks last night… Jerry D’Amigo scored shorthanded with 2:28 left in regulation to give the Marlies the win and a 3-4-1-1 mark during the trek, which coincided with the annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair held at Ricoh… Greg Scott also scored for Toronto last night and Mark Owuya (2-1-1, 1.40, .945) made 26 saves in the win… Defenseman Joe Finley scored for the Americans last night, the first goal in 23 career AHL games for the former first-round draft pick (27th overall by Washington, 2005)… Yesterday’s loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Rochester.

Norfolk outgunned St. John’s, 6-2, in the opener of the teams’ two-game weekend set last night, ending the IceCaps’ six-game winning streak and handing them their first regulation loss in nine outings… Tyler Johnson had two goals and an assist, Trevor Smith scored twice and Cory Conacher had three assists for the Admirals, who scored as many as six goals in a game for the fifth time this season… Conacher (8-13-21), with 4-5-9 during his six-game scoring streak, now leads all AHL rookies in scoring and is one point off the overall league lead… Carter Ashton scored his 12th goal of the season last night to remain tied for first in the AHL… Paul Postma and Carl Klingberg scored for St. John’s, which was held under three goals in a game for just the fourth time all year.

Bridgeport welcomes Springfield to Webster Bank Arena… With first-place Connecticut idle tonight and both the Sound Tigers and Falcons one point behind the Whale, the winner of this game will gain at least a share of the top spot in the Northeast Division… Springfield rolled to a 7-2 win in Providence last night, the Falcons’ sixth victory in their last eight games… Rookie forward Cam Atkinson scored twice for Springfield and Martin St. Pierre extended his scoring streak to nine games (3-11-14) with three assists… The Sound Tigers dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to Connecticut, their 11th consecutive one-goal game… Kevin Poulin stopped 42 of 45 shots in the loss, and David Ullstrom scored both Bridgeport goals to extend his goal-scoring streak to seven games (8-1-9).

Milwaukee puts its 10-month road points streak on the line as it visits Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids tonight… The Admirals have earned points in 22 consecutive regular-season road games (15-0-4-3) since its last regulation loss, a 3-0 setback to the Manitoba Moose on Jan. 13, 2011… Milwaukee is 5-0-0-1 on the road this season, but is coming off a 6-3 loss at home to Chicago last night… Juuso Puustinen (7-2-9) scored twice in the loss for the Admirals… The Griffins fell 5-4 in overtime to San Antonio last night despite two third-period goals from Joakim Andersson, his first two goals in 15 games this season.

After a 3-2 shootout loss in Syracuse last night, Hershey returns home where a rested Albany team awaits them… The Devils, on a seven-game points streak (5-0-1-1), have been off since last Sunday’s 4-3 overtime loss to Toronto… The Devils franchise has never won at Giant Center (0-6-0-0), and has lost 11 of 13 overall to the Bears, including a 4-1 defeat back on Oct. 21… Boyd Kane and Jacob Micflikier scored last night for Hershey, which is 0-1-1-1 in its last three games; the Bears have not had a four-game winless streak since Feb. 8-14, 2009 (0-4-0-0)… Nathan Perkovich has scored a goal in two straight games for Albany.

A night after its eight-game road winning streak was snapped in Portland, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton heads to the Verizon Wireless Arena for a date with Manchester… The Penguins dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Pirates last night… Brian Gibbons and Ben Street scored for the Pens, and Scott Munroe (1-1-2, 1.83, .923) made 20 saves… Manchester was a 3-2 overtime victor over Worcester last night, as Andrew Campbell‘s first goal of the season provided the winning margin… Jordan Nolan scored two shorthanded goals for the Monarchs last night, and Martin Jones (5-7-0, 2.44, .924) stopped 34 of 36 shots.

Providence visits Portland tonight for the fourth meeting of the season between the clubs… The Pirates grabbed a 3-2 shootout win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last night, as defensemen Maxim Goncharov and Michael Stone scored in regulation and Ryan Duncan and Brett MacLean converted in the shootout… Portland has won three in a row — all at home — after losing six of its previous eight games… Providence was on the short end of a 7-2 decision against Springfield last night… Bruins rookie Carter Camper, who had a goal and an assist in last night’s loss, has 2-3-5 in three games vs. Portland this season.

Peoria and Lake Erie close out a two-game set at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland tonight… The Rivermen extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Monsters on Thursday night… Peoria’s T.J. Hensick, who notched 131 points in 120 games for Lake Erie from 2007-10, leads the AHL in scoring with 6-16-22 this season… Ben Bishop made 33 saves on Thursday to earn his seventh win in his last eight decisions… Monsters scoring leader David van der Gulik (5-10-15) has 3-5-8 in his last five games after being out of the lineup for the previous four contests.

Syracuse hosts Adirondack tonight after a 3-2 shootout win over Hershey last night… Patrick Maroon and Mathieu Carle scored power-play goals for the Crunch and Iiro Tarkki made 39 saves before stopping all four Bears attempts in the shootout… Tarkki (4-4-1, 2.27, .928) has made four straight starts for Syracuse and has stopped 142 of 150 shots… Adirondack is in fifth place in the Northeast Division, but just two points out of first… The Phantoms have scored exactly two goals in each of their last six games (3-3-0-0)… Ben Holmstrom and Jason Akeson had a goal and an assist each in Adirondack’s last game, a 4-2 loss in Portland on Tuesday night.

Chicago returns home after a 4-1-0-0 road swing to face San Antonio tonight.. The Wolves extended their winning streak to four games with a 6-3 win over Milwaukee last night, as Darren Haydar (6-11-17) and Mark Mancari (4-5-9) had a goal and two assists each… Haydar has 2-7-9 and a plus-9 rating in his last three games… Colby Robak‘s goal 30 seconds into overtime gave the Rampage a 5-4 win in Grand Rapids last night, the opener of a seven-game road swing… Bill Thomas chipped in two goals and an assist for San Antonio… The Rampage won the only previous meeting this season between these teams, a 3-2 shootout victory on Oct. 8.

Oklahoma City took over sole possession of first place in the West Division with a 4-1 win over Abbotsford last night; the Heat looks to pull back even in tonight’s rematch… The Heat are 7-2-1-0 in their last 10 games, but all three losses have been to the Barons… Ryan Keller and Tanner House had a goal and an assist each for Oklahoma City last night, and David LeNeveu stopped 24 of 25 shots as the Barons (12-4-0-1) tied St. John’s for the best record in the AHL… OKC’s Philippe Cornet remained in a tie for the league lead with his 12th goal of the season last night… Jon Rheault scored the only goal for Abbotsford.

Houston and Texas finish up a home-and-home series at Cedar Park Center tonight… Raymond Sawada scored 1:30 into overtime last night to give the Stars a 3-2 win, ending a three-game winless slide… Jordie Benn and Tomas Vincour also scored for Texas, and Maxime Fortunus and Travis Morin notched two assists each on the night… Chad Rau and Jeff Taffe scored for the Aeros, who lost for the third time in four games… Taffe has recorded points in his last six games (3-6-9)… Houston is 5-1-0-1 on the road this season.
