St. John’s closes out its six-game, nine-day road trip with a visit to Bridgeport this afternoon… The IceCaps have won three in a row, are 3-0-2-0 on the trip so far and own a conference-best 8-2-3-0 record for the year… Edward Pasquale has been in net for each of the last three games, including making 30 saves in last night’s 3-1 win at Worcester… Shawn Weller scored twice for the IceCaps last night and now has 3-2-5 in his last three games… The Sound Tigers extended their winning streak to three with a 3-2 victory over Norfolk last night… David Ullstrom had a goal and an assist, giving him 6-2-8 in his last eight outings… Bridgeport is 4-1-1-0 in its last six contests, all decided by one goal… These clubs split two meetings in St. John’s, Oct. 21-22.

Portland pays a visit to Manchester this afternoon for the fourth meeting of the season between the teams, and the first at Verizon Wireless Arena… The Pirates have been off for more than a week, since a 5-2 loss to the Monarchs last Friday night… Portland rookie Andy Miele, back from an NHL stint with Phoenix, had five points (2g, 3a) in his last AHL game, a 5-3 win over Manchester on Oct. 19… The Monarchs dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Providence last night, with Brandon Kozun and David Kolomatis scoring for Manchester… Kozun now has a goal in three straight games.

Road-weary Norfolk finishes a seven-game road stretch in Providence today… The Admirals continue to pace the AHL in scoring (4.0 goals per game) but have just two goals in their last 129:06 of play… Rookie Carter Ashton scored his 10th goal of the season in last night’s 3-2 loss at Bridgeport, tying for the league lead… Josh Hennessy had a goal and an assist in regulation and scored the only goal of the six-round shootout as the Bruins defeated Manchester, 3-2, last night… Providence is 3-0 in shootouts this season and 15-4 since the start of the 2009-10 campaign… The Bruins’ Anton Khudobin (5-6-0, 3.07, .910) leads the league in minutes played (645), shots faced (365) and saves (332) this year.

San Antonio wraps up a six-game homestand as Texas visits the AT&T Center this afternoon… The Rampage snapped a four-game losing streak with a convincing 6-1 win over Toronto last night, getting two goals from Evgeny Dadonov… The Stars have been off since a 4-3 overtime win over the Marlies on Thursday, in which Francis Wathier got the deciding goal in OT… San Antonio won the only previous meeting between these clubs on Oct. 20, a 4-3 win behind a three-point effort from Michal Repik (1g, 2a) and with Colby Robak getting the winning goal with 1:48 left in regulation.

The four-game southwestern portion of Toronto’s nine-game roadie continues in Houston this evening… The Marlies have lost the first four games of their trek by a combined score of 16-5… Joe Colborne (10-9-19) scored the only Toronto goal in last night’s 6-1 loss in San Antonio, keeping him tied for the league lead in goals and alone in first for points… Despite the slide, the Marlies (5-4-2-0) are still in first place in the North Division, one point ahead of Hamilton and Rochester… Houston comes in with the best record in the AHL at 8-1-0-3 (19 points), including 6-0-0-2 in its last eight… Jon DiSalvatore is riding an eight-game scoring streak (3-8-11) for the Aeros, the longest current streak in the league.

Syracuse visits Rochester in the back end of a home-and-home this evening… The Crunch took a 5-2 victory in their home portion last night, as Dan Sexton led the way with a goal and four assists — the third five-point game in the AHL this season (Chris Bourque, Oct. 14; Andy Miele, Oct. 19)… Mark Bell added a goal and two assists and defenseman Bryan Rodney had a goal and an assist to give Syracuse its 18th win in its last 22 home games vs. Rochester… The Amerks, meanwhile, are 14-3-0-0 in their last 17 home games against the Crunch… Jacob Lagace and Marcus Foligno scored for Rochester last night… Paul Szczechura had an assist, giving him 0-2-2 in two games since making his season debut.

Charlotte’s second of three straight three-in-three road trips ends in Rockford this evening with the first-ever meeting between the Checkers and IceHogs… Nicolas Blanchard and Justin Faulk scored for Charlotte in last night’s 2-1 win at Grand Rapids, and Justin Peters made 10 of his 26 saves in the third period to preserve the victory… Jerome Samson ran his scoring streak to six games (2-6-8) with an assist… Rockford, which has lost five of its last seven, has been off since last Saturday… Defenseman Brian Connelly has 1-3-4 in his last two games for the IceHogs.
