In Thursday’s only action, AHL scoring leader Corey Locke racked up four points (2-2-4) as Hartford beat Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 5-3… On Wednesday, Mark Mancari scored twice as Portland rallied past Worcester, 5-3… Johan Backlund made 25 saves in Adirondack’s 2-0 win over Toronto… Rookie Drayson Bowman scored twice to help Albany past Syracuse, 5-2… Warren Peters potted two goals as Texas stayed hot with a 3-1 win at Rockford… Anton Khudobin made 16 saves for his third shutout as Houston edged Peoria, 1-0… Springfield scored twice in the final 1:54 of regulation to pull out a 4-3 win over Lowell.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Texas brings its 12-game points streak (9-0-2-1) into Van Andel Arena on Friday to battle Grand Rapids, which is 8-1-0-0 on home ice this season and 9-1-0-0 in its last 10 overall… The Stars have not dropped a regulation decision in exactly a month, dating to a 4-0 loss to Lake Erie on Oct. 20… Stars goaltender Brent Krahn (9-1-0) leads the league in GAA (1.20) and save percentage (.964) and hasn’t lost since opening night at San Antonio on Oct. 2… Sergei Korostin paces all AHL rookies with eight goals (8-2-10) in 19 games for the Stars… Jeremy Williams shows eight goals (8-2-10) in 15 games for the Griffins, four more than anyone else on the team, and Kris Newbury has a point in seven of his last eight outings (1-8-9)… The Griffins have allowed the first goal in 11 of their 15 games but are 7-4-0-0 in those 11 contests.

Albany, which has played 13 of its first 19 games at home, hits the road this weekend for games in Manchester on Friday and Binghamton on Saturday… The River Rats are just 1-4-0-1 away from the Times Union Center this year and takes on a Monarchs club which is 7-1-0-1 on home ice… Albany features four rookies among its top six scorers – Drayson Bowman (6-6-12), Zach Boychuk (5-7-12), Stefan Chaput (3-8-11) and Chris Terry (3-4-7)… Jerome Samson paces the Rats with 18 points (7-11-18) but has just one goal in his last four outings… Manchester rookie Andrei Loktionov, who is scoreless in three straight, had three goals and an assist in the Monarchs’ 6-3 win at Albany on Oct. 3… Corey Elkins shows 2-2-4 in his last two contests for Manchester… Jonathan Bernier is 1-3-2 in his last six starts after winning six of his first seven decisions for the Monarchs.

Winners of three straight contests, Chicago wraps up a six-game road swing with a visit to Rockford on Friday… The Wolves are 7-2-0-1 since Chris Chelios (1-8-9, +10) signed on Oct. 20 and Don Lever was installed as head coach the next day… Jason Krog has a point in four straight games (2-5-7) and six of his last seven (3-9-12) for Chicago, while Brett Sterling is also riding a four-game scoring run (3-3-6)… The Wolves’ Spencer Machacek shows a point in his last three outings (2-3-5) on the heels of a season-high four-game drought… Rockford leading scorer Mark Cullen has posted 16 points (7-9-16), seven more than runners-up Danny Bois (5-4-9) and Jake Dowell (1-8-9)… Cullen is tied for the IceHogs’ goal-scoring lead with Nathan Davis (7-1-8), who totaled five scores as a rookie last season… The home team has won 20 of 24 all-time regular-season meetings between these clubs, including the IceHogs’ 9-2-0-0 mark at the MetroCentre.
