In Thursday’s only AHL action, Matt Anderson broke a 2-2 tie with 1:38 left in regulation to give Chicago a 3-2 win at Abbotsford… On Wednesday, defenseman Danny Groulx registered four points (2-2-4) as Worcester doubled up Springfield, 8-4… Brodie Dupont scored twice – including the overtime winner – as Hartford edged Lowell in Newark, N.J., 3-2… Curtis Sanford posted Hamilton’s ninth team shutout of the season, making 22 saves in a 4-0 win over San Antonio… Bryan Bickell had a goal and two assists as Rockford beat Grand Rapids, 5-3… Chris Bourque’s fifth-round shootout goal lifted Hershey to its ninth consecutive victory, a 3-2 decision in Norfolk.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Boasting a 9-1-0-1 record in its last 11 games, Rockford hits the road this weekend for a two-game set with Lake Erie… The IceHogs captured both of their previous clashes with the Monsters this season, including a 3-0 win in Cleveland on Oct. 10… 2010 AHL All-Star Mark Cullen paces the IceHogs with 44 points (17-27-44) in 53 games… Kyle Greentree has a team-high 18 goals (18-17-35) for Rockford and shows 12 points (6-6-12) in his last 11 contests… Philippe Dupuis (2-4-6) and Matthew Ford (3-3-6) are each riding four-game scoring streaks for the Monsters, who are 14-6-0-1 in their last 21 tilts… Forward T.J. Hensick (10-28-38 in 30 games) has gone two games without a point for the first time since Nov. 27-28, his first two outings with the Monsters this season… Rockford is 13-5-0-1 against North Division opponents.

Lowell brings its franchise-record seven-game road winning streak into Worcester on Friday to battle a Sharks club which is 6-0-1-0 in its last seven games and 22-4-2-1 since Nov. 21… Both teams enter the weekend within striking distance of first-place Manchester in the Atlantic Division… The Devils have won three of four at the DCU Center this year, most recently a 4-3 overtime decision last Sunday… Michael Swift tallied the game-winner in that one and shows a team-high eight points (2-6-8) in seven meetings with the Sharks overall… Stephen Gionta has registered six points (2-4-6) in his last five contests for Lowell… Worcester defenseman Danny Groulx is on a seven-game scoring streak (3-10-13) and is second among AHL blueliners with 38 points for the year (7-31-38)… Rookie Benn Ferriero has a point in five straight (4-5-9) for Worcester, and second-year pro Steven Zalewski is on a four-game scoring run (1-7-8).

Syracuse enters the weekend two points back of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Adirondack in the East Division playoff race; the Crunch visit the Penguins on Friday and host the Phantoms on Saturday… Syracuse is on a four-game winning streak and has put up a 9-4-0-1 mark in its last 14 outings… Crunch forward Derek MacKenzie has tallied a goal in seven of his last eight games and has a point in nine straight overall (7-7-14)… Tomas Kana shows a point (3-3-6) in four straight games for the Crunch, who are 6-1-0-0 in their last seven on the road… Wilkes-Barre is 5-1-0-0 against Syracuse this season… Pens forward Luca Caputi has a point in six straight games (5-5-10) since returning from an NHL stint… Dustin Jeffrey shows a team-high 47 points (14-33-47) in 45 games for the Penguins.

On Thursday, 2010 AHL All-Star Anton Khudobin stopped all nine shots he faced in relief to pick up the win in his NHL debut as Minnesota topped Edmonton, 4-2… 2007 AHL All-Star Jaroslav Halak made 45 saves and went 3-for-3 in the shootout to help Montreal edge Boston, 3-2… AHL alumni Ryan Whitney and Tim Gleason were named as replacements to the United States Olympic team on Thursday.
