LOOKING AHEAD:
San Antonio hosts in-state rival Texas for the sixth and final time this season on Friday in the opener of a home-and-home set between the teams… The Rampage, who have totaled 13 goals in winning their last two games, enter the weekend eight points back of Milwaukee for the West Division’s final playoff spot… Recent acquisition Alexandre Picard has three goals in his last two games for the Rampage; David Schlemko is riding a three-game scoring streak (1-4-5); and Joel Perrault shows five assists in his last two contests… David Spina is coming off a hat trick in the Rampage’s 6-5 overtime win over Peoria last Sunday… The Stars are on a three-game winning streak and show a 5-1-0-0 mark in their last six outings… In his first appearance since Nov. 22, Brent Krahn (11-2-0, 1.46, .956) made 29 saves in Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Peoria… Texas’s Perttu Lindgren has a team-high seven points (1-6-7) in eight games against the Rampage.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton begins a three-game road weekend in Providence on Friday, marking the Pens’ first visit to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center since Mar. 16, 2008… The Penguins are two points back of Bridgeport for the East Division’s final playoff spot, while the Bruins sit three points back of that berth… Chris Conner registered four points (3-1-4) in the Pens’ 5-1 win over Providence on Feb. 27 but enters the weekend scoreless in his last three contests… Wilkes-Barre’s line of Dustin Jeffrey (20-39-59), Mark Letestu (19-28-47) and Nick Johnson (11-24-35) is a combined plus-45 on the season… Providence is looking to halt a three-game winless skid (0-2-0-1)… Jordan Knackstedt has a point in five straight games (5-1-6) and seven of eight (5-4-9) for the Bruins, while former first-round draft pick Zach Hamill is on a three-game scoring streak (1-2-3)… The B’s are 0-2-0-1 at home since collecting a 4-2 win over Abbotsford on Feb. 19.

After taking a pair of one-goal victories at Rockford earlier this season, Manitoba welcomes the IceHogs to the MTS Centre for a two-game set… The Moose, who will play their next six contests at home, enter the weekend four points up on Lake Erie for the North Division’s final playoff spot… Marco Rosa paces the Moose with 46 points (19-27-46) in 66 games but has just one assist in his last six outings… Matt Pettinger has two goals and an assist in two meetings with the IceHogs this year… Rockford’s Matt Keith has netted a goal in three straight games and shows a point in five of six (3-3-6), while Pete MacArthur is on a four-game scoring run (1-3-4)… Bracken Kearns has picked up a point in five of his last six outings (3-3-6) and has established career highs in goals (15), assists (32) and points (47) while playing all 68 games for the IceHogs.

On Thursday, Viktor Stalberg tallied two goals and Luca Caputi assisted on both as Toronto edged Tampa Bay, 4-3… Zach Boychuk netted a goal and 2010 AHL All-Star Justin Peters made 37 saves to help Carolina past Pittsburgh in overtime, 4-3… Mark Mancari, who leads AHL Portland in goals (22) and points (62) this season, scored his first NHL goal of the year in Buffalo’s 5-3 win over Dallas on Wednesday.
