Three points back of Norfolk for the East Division’s third and final guaranteed playoff spot, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton hosts the Admirals on Wednesday at the Mohegan Sun Arena… The Penguins have a point in four straight (2-0-1-1) and 13 of their last 16 games (10-3-1-2) since dropping a 5-3 decision at Norfolk on Feb. 10… Tim Wallace shows 5-2-7 in his last seven outings for Wilkes-Barre and has a team-high four goals and six points in six clashes with the Admirals this season… Dustin Jeffrey (21-42-63), who leads the Penguins in goals, assists and points, is on a four-game scoring streak (2-3-5)… The Admirals are winless in three straight (0-1-0-2) for the first time since a five-game slide from Dec. 19 to Jan. 2, and have fallen eight points back of Albany for second place in the East Division… Rookie forward Dana Tyrell is on a season-high six-game scoring run (2-6-8) for the Ads… Adam Hall (3-2-5) and Ryan Craig (1-3-4) each had four-game scoring streaks snapped in Saturday’s 3-2 shootout loss to Bridgeport… Norfolk is the AHL’s least-penalized team, averaging 11.66 minutes per game… The teams still have three meetings remaining after Wednesday, all in Norfolk.

Hartford hosts Providence on Wednesday for a battle of perennial contenders currently on the outside of the playoff picture… The Wolf Pack have made 12 consecutive postseason trips and the Bruins have made 11 straight, but they enter Wednesday’s game six and seven points, respectively, out of the Eastern Conference’s final spot… Hartford is on its first two-game winning streak since a pair of triumphs over the Bruins on Jan. 10 and 16… Corey Locke has a point in three straight games (3-4-7) for the Wolf Pack and ranks third in the AHL with 76 points (27-49-76) in 67 games overall… Hartford’s Brodie Dupont has netted a goal in three straight outings (3-2-5), and Kris Newbury shows five points (2-3-5) in five games since joining the Pack at the NHL trade deadline… Bruins leading scorer Mikko Lehtonen (22-26-48) has racked up eight goals and nine points in eight meetings with Hartford… John Lammers has a point in four of his last five contests (1-4-5) for Providence, which is opening a stretch of four road games in five nights… The Bruins are an even 24-24-3-1 this season against Atlantic Division opponents.

Looking to creep closer to fourth place in the West Division, San Antonio hosts Peoria on Wednesday for the third time in nine days… The Rampage, who have won four straight from the Rivermen, enter four points behind Milwaukee for the division’s final playoff spot… Alexandre Picard went scoreless in his first two games after joining San Antonio from Syracuse, but has a point in five straight outings since (5-1-6)… The Rampage’s David Spina has 12 points (4-8-12) in 16 games since returning from injury… Former first-round draft pick Kyle Turris has recorded 7-9-16 in his last 13 games… Peoria, which is concluding a five-game trip to Texas, sits seven points out of a playoff spot and three back of the Rampage… Rivermen rookie Brett Sonne has 2-5-7 in seven games against San Antonio and 8-5-13 in 57 games against everyone else… Peoria’s Pascal Pelletier has a point in six of his last seven games (3-6-9), and Nicholas Drazenovic has scored three goals in his last two contests… The Rivermen boast the AHL’s second-ranked road power play (21.6 percent).
