Rochester puts its three-game winning streak on the line Wednesday as it hosts Binghamton in the teams’ first meeting of the season… The Amerks are seeking to win four straight contests for the first time since Nov. 1-9, 2007… Michal Repik leads Rochester with five goals and eight points, and the second-year pro has registered multiple points in four of his five games… David Brine boasts a four-game scoring streak (3-2-5) for the Americans and has netted two of Rochester’s league-high four shorthanded goals… Binghamton has totaled 10 goals during a four-game losing skid (0-2-2-0) after combining for 11 goals in two victories to open its season… Sens captain Denis Hamel has a point in all six games so far (2-5-7), and Ryan Keller has notched a goal in four of six contests (4-3-7)… Martin St. Pierre paces the club with eight points (4-4-8)… Binghamton goaltender Mike Brodeur was an AHL All-Star for Rochester in 2008-09.

Rockford and Peoria square off for the third time this season on Wednesday at Carver Arena… The teams’ first two clashes each extended beyond regulation before the home team prevailed, Peoria in overtime on Oct. 4 and Rockford in a shootout last Saturday… IceHogs forward Jake Dowell has multiple points in three of his last four games (1-6-7), including a three-assist outing against the Rivermen on Saturday… Matt Keith netted his first two goals of the season in that contest, and Daryl Boyle has put together a four-game scoring streak (1-3-4) for the IceHogs… Peoria’s Yan Stastny is riding a five-game scoring run and leads the club with seven points (2-5-7); both Stastny (1-2-3) and Nicholas Drazenovic (0-3-3) show three points in two match-ups with Rockford this season… Rivermen defenseman Jonas Junland has scored six of his 17 career AHL goals against the IceHogs, including two this year… Peoria has the AHL’s third-best power play at 26.3 percent (5-for-19).

Lake Erie continues its three-game swing through the Lone Star State with a stop in Houston on Wednesday… Trevor Cann pitched a 24-save shutout for his first professional win as the Monsters began the swing with a 4-0 win over Texas on Tuesday… Darren Haydar posted a goal and an assist in that win and is now riding a three-game scoring streak (2-2-4) for Lake Erie, while Chris Durno shows three goals and four points in his last two outings… Houston, which has won six of eight all-time meetings against Lake Erie, has been idle since a 5-1 loss to Texas on Saturday… Jean-Michel Daoust has a point in three of his last four games (1-3-4), and his four points are tops on the Aeros… After appearing in two games with the parent Minnesota Wild, 2009 AHL All-Star Jaime Sifers was assigned to Houston on Tuesday… The Aeros’ penalty kill is a perfect 24-for-24 on the season.

Division rivals Toronto and Abbotsford wrap up a two-game set at the Enterainment & Sports Centre on Wednesday… The Marlies took a 3-1 win over the Heat on Tuesday, handing Abbotsford its first regulation loss of the season after a 3-0-2-1 start… Rookie Christian Hanson had a goal and two helpers in the victory and shows six points (2-4-6) for the season… Jiri Tlusty paces the Marlies with four goals and seven points, and he already has three multiple-point nights to his credit… Rookie forward Mikael Backlund, a first-round draft pick by Calgary in 2007, notched the Heat’s lone goal on Tuesday… Kris Chucko has a point in five straight games (1-5-6) and six of seven overall (4-5-9) for Abbotsford, and Jason Jaffray has found the scoresheet in five of his first six games (3-3-6)… After Wednesday’s contest, the Heat will embark on a six-game road trip.

On Tuesday, former AHL All-Rookie defenseman Alex Goligoski netted a goal to help Pittsburgh stay hot with a 5-1 victory over St. Louis… Two-time AHL All-Star Ryan Vesce scored his second NHL goal and defenseman Jason Demers had two assists as San Jose topped the N.Y. Rangers, 7-3, on Monday.

2 — Appearances in the Calder Cup Finals for new Chicago Wolves bench boss Don Lever… Lever’s Rochester Americans lost in the 1991 Finals, and he won the Calder Cup with Hamilton in 2007, ousting Chicago in the conference finals.
