LOOKING AHEAD:
Hamilton kicks off a three-game Texas road trip with a visit to San Antonio on Friday… The Bulldogs (4-0-2-1) are the only AHL team yet to suffer a regulation loss, while the Rampage (6-1-1-0) boast a league-high 13 points… Second-year pro Brock Trotter is on a four-game scoring streak (1-4-5) for Hamilton and paces the club with six points overall (2-4-6)… Mathieu Darche, who scored his 200th career AHL goal on Tuesday, leads the Bulldogs with four tallies (4-1-5) in the early going, and both of Ryan White’s goals (2-2-4) have been game-winners… San Antonio is coming off consecutive seven-goal outings in wins over Grand Rapids last weekend… Joel Perrault is riding a four-game goal-scoring streak (4-2-6) for the Rampage, Brett MacLean has scored in three straight games (5-3-8), and Kyle Turris has a goal in three of his last four contests (4-3-7)… Defenseman Sean Sullivan is pacing the Rampage with 2-8-10 through eight games.

Worcester travels to Providence on Friday for the teams’ first clash since last spring’s Atlantic Division Finals, won by the Bruins in six games… The B’s (4.33) and Sharks (4.20) rank first and second in the league in goals per game thus far… Providence has the AHL’s best power play at 31.1 percent, while Worcester is third at 26.1 percent… Three of the P-Bruins’ top five scorers – Vladimir Sobotka, Brad Marchand and Trent Whitfield – begin the weekend on NHL recall to Boston… Mikko Lehtonen shows 1-3-4 in his last two games for Providence and 3-5-8 in six tilts overall… Bruins blueliner Andy Wozniewski leads the league in scoring with 4-9-13 in six games… Logan Couture has a goal in three straight games (3-4-7) for the Sharks and is tied for second among AHL rookies with eight points (3-5-8)… Former Providence forward T.J. Trevelyan is on a four-game scoring run (2-3-5) for Worcester.

Winners of three in a row, Lake Erie visits the Texas Stars in Cedar Park on Friday… The Monsters are coming off back-to-back shutouts, including a 4-0 win over the Stars on Tuesday… Rookie Trevor Cann posted a 24-save whitewash in that one, and Tyler Weiman blanked Houston on 27 shots the next night in a 1-0 win… Monsters leading scorer Chris Durno (5-3-8) has four goals and an assist in his last three games, and Darren Haydar is riding a four-game scoring streak (2-3-5)… Texas ranks third in goals allowed per game (2.00) but is tied for 24th in goals scored (2.29)… The Stars are led in scoring by a trio of rookies – Colton Sceviour (1-4-5), Travis Morin (0-4-4) and Sergei Korostin (3-0-3), who has netted two game-winners among his three tallies… Matt Climie has posted a 1.45 GAA through four appearances for Texas (2-1-1)… The Stars have allowed one power-play goal in 25 chances on the season.

ALUMNI WATCH:
After both were recalled from Hershey earlier in the day, 2008-09 AHL MVP Alexandre Giroux scored on an assist from Keith Aucoin in Washington’s 5-4 win over Atlanta on Thursday night… Also Thursday, 2009 Second Team AHL All-Star defenseman Cody Franson potted his first career NHL goal in Nashville’s 6-5 overtime win at Ottawa… On Wednesday, 2009 Calder Cup finalist Michael Grabner notched his first career NHL goal to help Vancouver past Chicago, 3-2.
