On Tuesday, Kris Newbury (2-1-3), Wade Redden (1-2-3), and Dale Weise (0-3-3) each had three points to lead Connecticut to its fourth straight win, 5-2 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton… Jordan Pearce made 36 saves for his first AHL shutout in Grand Rapids’ 3-0 victory in Peoria… Corey Tropp and Colin Stuart nabbed shootout goals as Portland edged Hershey, 3-2… Alexandre Bolduc scored twice and added an assist to lead Manitoba past Oklahoma City, 4-1.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Binghamton sits two points back of Norfolk for fourth place in the East Division as it continues a four-game southern trip by taking on the Admirals tonight at Scope Arena… The Senators are just 1-3-0-1 in five outings since rattling off eight straight wins, but they still sit five points up on Worcester for the Eastern Conference’s crossover playoff spot… Binghamton remains without forwards Erik Condra (17-29-46), Colin Greening (14-23-37), and Bobby Butler (22-11-33), along with defenseman Derek Smith (10-23-33), all of whom are on NHL recall to Ottawa… The Senators do have AHL leading scorer Corey Locke (18-55-73), who has racked up eight assists in five games against Norfolk this season… B-Sens captain Ryan Keller has netted nine goals in his last 10 games (9-5-14) and boasts a team-high 26 markers on the season (26-15-41)… Norfolk has managed just four goals in three games (1-2-0-0) since collecting a 6-1 win over Hershey on Mar. 2, and the Admirals are coming off a 4-1 loss in Binghamton on Sunday… Paul Szczechura notched Norfolk’s lone goal in that tilt, just his second goal in a span of 20 games… Marc-Antoine Pouliot has a point in three of his last four outings (1-4-5) for the Admirals… Binghamton owns the AHL’s top-ranked power play (23.0 percent), while Norfolk ranks sixth on the penalty kill (84.7 percent).

Peoria and Chicago collide at Allstate Arena tonight in the Illinois rivals’ fourth meeting in the last 12 days… Each of the last two clashes has required extra time to decide, with the Rivermen taking a 6-5 overtime win on Mar. 1 before prevailing by that same score in a shootout last Saturday, both in Peoria… The Wolves had captured the first three meetings between the teams prior to those two setbacks… Peoria enters tonight two points up on Chicago for the West Division’s fourth and final guaranteed playoff spot, but the two wins over the Wolves are their only victories in their last six outings (2-3-0-1)… Rivermen forwards Dave Spina (2-4-6) and Derek Nesbitt (1-5-6) each have a team-high six points against Chicago this season… Defenseman Nathan Oystrick shows 2-6-8 in his last eight contests for the Rivermen… Peoria leading scorer T.J. Hensick (18-43-61) is on NHL recall to St. Louis… The Wolves, who are in a stretch of playing seven of nine at home, have a point in nine of their last 11 contests (7-2-1-1)… Darren Haydar is riding a five-game scoring streak (5-3-8) and has a team-best four goals (4-1-5) vs. Peoria… Chicago rookie forward Tim Miller has put up a point in five of his last six games (4-3-7), and rookie Ryan Garbutt shows six assists in his last five tilts.

Tied for sixth place in the West Division and currently one point out of a playoff spot, Oklahoma City and San Antonio meet on Thursday night in a pivotal game at the AT&T Center… The Barons are coming off a 4-1 loss to Manitoba on Tuesday, and the Rampage are just 2-4-1-0 in their last seven games… These two teams have split their first eight meetings this season – each side has four regulation wins – and Oklahoma City is 2-1-0-0 in San Antonio thus far… Rookie defenseman Colten Teubert, a former first-round draft pick, has a point in all three games (2-1-3) since joining the Barons via trade from the Los Angeles organization… Brad Moran is also on a three-game scoring streak (1-3-4) for the Barons, whose goals and points leader Alexandre Giroux (29-36-65) remains on NHL recall to Edmonton… San Antonio’s leading scorer – Brett MacLean (23-27-50) – is also on NHL recall to Phoenix… Defenseman Garrett Stafford (12-28-40) is the Rampage’s active points leader, and his 20 power play assists rank second among all AHL rearguards… Matt Watkins has a point in four of his last five games (3-2-5) for San Antonio and has scored four goals in six games vs. Oklahoma City.

Erik Condra, who shows 17-29-46 in 54 games for AHL Binghamton this season, scored both Ottawa goals as the Senators cooled of New Jersey with a 2-1 win on Tuesday… Elsewhere, 2011 AHL All-Star defenseman Justin Braun tallied a goal as San Jose took a 3-2 overtime win over Nashville… 2010 AHL All-Rookie forward Lars Eller recorded the first two-goal game of his NHL career in Montreal’s 4-1 win over Boston… Two-time AHL All-Star defenseman Clay Wilson notched his first NHL goal of the season to help Florida edge Chicago, 3-2.
