On Tuesday, Ville Koistinen had a goal and an assist as Milwaukee secured third place in the West Division with a 3-1 win over Houston… Barry Brust made 29 saves in Manchester’s 3-1 win at Portland, eliminating the Pirates from playoff contention… Robbie Earl had three points in regulation and the only shootout goal in Toronto’s 4-3 win over Rochester… Omaha scored three times in the third period at hit the 100-point mark with a 3-1 win over San Antonio.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Albany is fourth in the East Division, one point ahead of Bridgeport with one game in hand, heading into Wednesday’s meeting with Binghamton… The River Rats’ magic number is 8 to clinch their first playoff berth since 2000… Albany has won three straight meetings between the teams, including a 7-3 decision last Friday… Tyler Weiman is 4-0-0 (1.98, .941) against the Senators this season… Chris Stewart, Colorado’s first-round pick (18th overall) in the 2006 NHL draft, has two assists in his first four pro games for Albany… Defenseman Charlie Cook is on a five-game scoring streak for Binghamton (2g, 4a)… The River Rats have won six of their last eight home games; the Sens have lost 14 of 15 on the road.

Peoria hosts Milwaukee on Wednesday with a chance to inch closer to a playoff spot in the Western Conference… The Rivermen are four points behind Iowa in the West Division, and three points behind Grand Rapids and a potential crossover to the North Division… The Admirals are 6-0-1-1 against Peoria this season, with defenseman Sheldon Brookbank leading both teams with 10 points (3g, 7a) and a plus-9 rating in the season series… Brookbank remains the AHL’s top-scoring blueliner with 50 points on the year… Rookie Cal O’Reilly has points in five straight for the Admirals (3g, 5a)… Trent Whitfield has tallied four goals and four assists in his last seven games for Peoria… Ryan Ramsay leads the Rivermen in penalty minutes (151) and plus/minus rating (+15).

Of the more than 950 players to dress for a National Hockey League game during the 2006-07 regular season, 83.5 percent were American Hockey League graduates… Three former AHL All-Stars recorded at least 95 points this year: Martin St. Louis (102), Marc Savard (96) and Daniel Briere (95)… Three AHL graduates – St. Louis (43), Thomas Vanek (43) and Jason Blake (40) – scored at least 40 goals… All five of the NHL’s 40-game winners were AHL alumni: Martin Brodeur (48), Roberto Luongo (47), Marc-Andre Fleury (40), Ryan Miller (40) and Miikka Kiprusoff (40).

– Antero Niittymaki becomes the seventh goaltender in AHL history to be credited with a goal when Hershey, needing a win on the last day of the season to qualify for the Calder Cup Playoffs, pulls its goalie in overtime and accidentally shoots the puck into its own net… 1985 – Current San Antonio Rampage head coach Pat Conacher scores 17 seconds into the fourth overtime period, giving the Nova Scotia Oilers a 4-3 win over the Maine Mariners in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series… 1937 – The Syracuse Stars win the first Calder Cup championship with a 5-0 win over the Philadelphia Ramblers.
