Chris Conner, Marius Holtet and Marty Sertich scored third-period goals as Iowa took a 4-2 win from Lake Erie on Tuesday… Rockford lit the lamp three times late in the second period on their way to a 4-2 win at San Antonio… Drew MacIntyre made 32 saves as Manitoba found the win column for the first time this season, 1-0 over Rochester.

With the ALCS on an off-day, the Cleveland Indians’ next-door neighbors are on the ice tonight as the Lake Erie Monsters host the Iowa Stars at the Quicken Loans Arena… The Monsters (0-5-0-0) remain in search of their first victory after Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the Stars… Rookie center T.J. Hensick has a goal in two straight games for Lake Erie… Matt Hussey is the Monsters’ overall scoring leader with four points (2-2-4) on the season, and Cody McLeod has also notched a pair of goals and added an assist (2-1-3)… Iowa’s Marty Sertich has four points in his last three games (2-2-4)… Toby Petersen has found the scoresheet in three of the Stars’ first four games (1-4-5), including a pair of assists in Tuesday’s win.

Providence and Lowell kick off their 10-game season series tonight at Tsongas Arena… The Devils went 6-2-1-1 against the Bruins last season, including 4-0-0-1 on home ice… Lowell winger Stephen Gionta has two goals in three games to this point; it took him 42 games to score his second goal last season… Second-year pro T.J. Trevelyan led Providence with six goals (6-2-8) against the Devils last season… Three playes have a point in both of the Bruins’ two games thus far – Matt Lashoff (1-1-2), Jeff Hoggan (1-1-2) and Martins Karsums (0-3-3).

Rockford continues its season-opening nine-game road swing with a visit to Houston tonight… The IceHogs are in the midst of a four-games-in-five-nights stretch that will take them to Chicago and Grand Rapids this weekend… Colin Fraser scored twice and Corey Crawford made 30 saves in Rockford’s win at San Antonio on Tuesday… Martin St. Pierre made his IceHogs debut on Tuesday and scored the game’s first goal… Rookie winger Evan Brophey (1-4-5) contributed a pair of assists in the win… The Aeros come in at 0-2-1-0 on the season and are still looking for their first lead in a game… Defenseman Erik Reitz has had a hand in five of the Houston’s six goals this season (1-4-5).

Rochester and Manitoba square off for a rematch Wednesday evening at the MTS Centre, with the Americans looking to avenge Tuesday’s 1-0 loss… Moose rookie defenseman Luc Bourdon, selected 10th overall by Vancouver in the 2005 NHL Draft, notched the game’s only goal in the third period, his second goal and third point in the last two games… Amerks co-captain Clarke MacArthur saw his three-game points streak (1-3-4) end in the defeat… Rochester has one of the league’s busiest schedules in the early going, with Wednesday marking their seventh game in 13 days.

ALUMNI WATCH:
Flyers forwards Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, and R.J. Umberger posted a combined four points (2-2-4) in Philadelphia’s 4-2 win over Atlanta on Tuesday, with Carter and Richards scoring a goal apiece… The teams’ AHL affiliates, the Philadelphia Phantoms and Chicago Wolves, met in the 2005 Calder Cup Finals (won by the Phantoms, 4-0), and nine players who participated in that series suited up for Tuesday’s Flyers-Thrashers tilt.
