AHL arenas have been quiet since Sunday, when Rochester earned its eighth win in nine games with a 2-1 shootout decision over Syracuse… Tomas Fleischmann had a goal and an assist to help Hershey past Philadelphia, 4-1… Josh Hennessy’s overtime goal gave Binghamton a 5-4 win in Manchester.

After winning the first six, Norfolk wraps up a seven-game homestand as Bridgeport visits Scope tonight… The Admirals’ win streak is their longest since March 2002, when they reeled off eight wins in a row… Defenseman Cam Barker, the third overall pick in the 2004 NHL draft, was assigned to Norfolk on Monday… Carl Corazzini leads the Admirals with six goals and 12 points in seven games, while Brandon Bochenski has added five goals, all on the power play… Norfolk ranks fourth in the league on the power play; Bridgeport is second on the penalty kill… Since falling behind Philadelphia 5-2 in the third period on Oct. 20, the Admirals have outscored their opponents 14-2 in less than 10 periods of play… Blake Comeau leads the Sound Tigers in scoring with 10 points, but has only one assist to show for his last five games… Peter Ferraro has scored a goal in each of his four games for Bridgeport.

Defending division champion Portland is back atop the Atlantic Division, while perennial postseason participant Hartford is trying to climb out of the cellar… The teams meet tonight at the Hartford Civic Center, where the Pirates posted a 1-0 win back on Oct. 21… Portland has lost two in a row on the heels of a six-game winning streak; the Wolf Pack have dropped six of seven to being their 10th-anniversary season… Pierre Parenteau has tallied five goals and an assist in his last four games, including a hat trick in the Pirates’ 7-4 loss to Providence on Saturday… Zenon Konopka, tied for third with his plus-27 rating last season, is plus-7 through nine games for Portland… Hartford goalie Al Montoya has a 2.29 goals-against average in four starts this year, but is still in search of his first victory.

A perfect 4-0-0-0 in its previous outings away from home this season, Chicago kicks off a six-game road swing in Houston tonight… The Wolves have outscored their hosts 21-7, but have dropped four of five on home ice… Darren Haydar and Jason Krog continue to wield the hot sticks for Chicago, with 14 goals and 31 points between them in nine games… The Aeros have won three in a row after going winless in their first six, most recently posting a 7-1 decision over Peoria on Saturday in which Matt Foy recorded two goals and two assists… The Aeros had four goals in 60 chances (6.7%) on the power play for the year before going 3-for-6 against the Rivermen… Half of Houston’s 26 goals this season have been scored by rookies, with Benoit Pouliot (five) and Danny Irmen (four) leading the way… The Wolves have owned a third-period lead in eight of their first nine games.

Islanders defeated Chicago, 5-2… Chris Higgins scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season to help Montreal past Ottawa, 4-2… Christian Ehrhoff’s goal with 36 seconds left in regulation gave San Jose a 2-1 win over Florida… Alexander Radulov, the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for Oct. 9-15, 2006, scored for Nashville in a 3-2 win at Vancouver.

3 — Shootouts in which Worcester goaltender Dimitri Patzold has participated through the first four weeks of the season, tops in the AHL… Patzold made 33 appearances last season without being involved in a single shootout.
