Lawrence Nycholat had four assists on Thursday night to help Hershey past Binghamton, 5-3… On Wednesday, Jason Krog had five points, Darren Haydar recorded four and Brett Sterling picked up a hat trick in Chicago’s 6-3 win at Omaha… Mathieu Darche upped his league-leading total to 18 goals by scoring twice in Worcester’s 5-4 win over Hartford… Led again by goalie Karri Ramo, Springfield won its third shootout in eight days, outlasting Portland, 3-2.

Norfolk enters the weekend with a two-point lead on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Hershey atop the East Division; the Penguins play host to the Admirals at the Wachovia Arena on Friday night… The teams have combined for just five regulation losses in their first 35 games, and the Pens have not lost at home since Oct. 7… Erik Christensen, Wilkes-Barre’s leading scorer with 24 points, was recalled by parent Pittsburgh on Wednesday… Jonathan Filewich has nine points in his last seven games for the Pens… Martin St. Pierre had an 11-game scoring streak snapped in Norfolk’s overtime loss to Manchester on Wednesday, but still ranks third in the league in scoring with 28 points… Brandon Bochenski is one point behind him, recording 11 points in his last five games.

After handing Rochester its first home loss of the season on Wednesday, Milwaukee heads to Winnipeg for a two-game set with the Moose beginning Friday night… Sheldon Brookbank, who tallied the OT winner against the Americans, is tied for fifth among AHL defensemen in scoring with 13 points on the year… Rich Peverley had a goal and two assists in the win, and Karl Goehring made 44 saves… The Moose are coming off a come-from-behind 5-4 win in Hamilton on Tuesday… Manitoba is now 5-1-1-2 in one-goal decisions this season… Brad Moran recorded four points (1g, 3a) in Tuesday’s victory… Jason Jaffray has 13 goals this season for the Moose, one more than he scored in 73 games last year.

Iowa continues its six-game road trip with visits to division leaders Rochester (Friday) and Chicago (Sunday) this weekend… The Stars have begun their trip with back-to-back W’s and have now won five of their last six on the road… Marty Sertich had a goal and an assist for Iowa in Wednesday’s 3-2 win in Syracuse, giving the rookie 16 points in 17 games… The Stars will battle an Americans club coming off an overtime loss to Milwaukee two days earlier, just their second blemish in 16 games this season (14-1-1-0)… Clarke MacArthur had two assists in the loss, giving him nine points in his last four games (5g, 4a)… Craig Anderson stopped 24 of 28 shots and suffered his first defeat of the season (5-1-0).
