The Rochester Americans had their biggest offensive night in nearly 33 years, erupting for a 12-3 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Blue Cross Arena on Friday night.

It marked the highest output by an Amerks team since a 13-3 victory over the St. Catharines Saints on Apr. 7, 1985, and the most goals scored by an AHL team since the Hamilton Bulldogs’ 15-1 win over the Cleveland Barons on Dec. 8, 2002.

Rochester snapped a five-game losing streak with the victory, which was also the most lopsided loss in Penguins history.

Seth Griffith recorded two goals and three assists, Kyle Criscuolo and Alexander Nylander added two goals and two assists each, and Brendan Guhle chipped in a goal and two assists for Rochester, which went 6-for-9 on the power play.

Linus Ullmark made 35 saves in the win.
