Amerks sign Robak to AHL contract

The Rochester Americans announced Monday that the team has signed defenseman Colby Robak to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

 

Robak, 25, appeared in 12 NHL games with the Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks last season, totaling one assist and two penalty minutes. He also appeared in 29 AHL games with the Norfolk Admirals, collecting six points (1+5) and 18 penalty minutes. In 47 career NHL games with Florida and Anaheim, the 6-foot-3, 194-pound Robak has recorded four assists and 25 penalty minutes.
 
A native of Dauphin, Manitoba, Robak began his professional career with the Amerks in 2010-11, collecting 24 points (7+17) and 22 penalty minutes in 76 games as a rookie. In 297 career AHL games with Norfolk, San Antonio, and the Amerks, Robak has registered 113 points (30+83) and 144 penalty minutes. Robak, who represented San Antonio in the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic, was originally drafted by the Panthers in the second round (46th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
