Assante named All-Star title partner

The St. John’s IceCaps and the American Hockey League announced today that Assante Wealth Management has been named title partner of the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic.

The 2014 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Assante Wealth Management will take place at Mile One Centre in St. John’s and will feature a team of American Hockey League All-Stars facing off against Färjestad BK, one of the top professional teams in the Swedish Hockey League, in a two-day event including the All-Star Skills Competition on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and the All-Star Game on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

In 2002, Assante (along with Baker Hughes) served as title partner for the first AHL All-Star Classic held in St. John’s.

“We thank Assante for their continued support of both the American Hockey League and our member club in St. John’s,” said AHL President and Chief Executive Officer David Andrews. “From past experience we know that Assante will be a great partner to work with.”

Danny Williams, President and CEO of the St. John’s IceCaps, says the fact Assante is back for a second turn as title sponsor of the AHL Classic speaks to their commitment.

“Assante was a first-class partner back in 2002 and will be once again when they join us in showcasing our city, province and league at this world-class event,” said Williams, who served as Vice-Chair of the St. John’s Maple Leafs Board of Directors back in 2002.
