Avalanche re-sign Greer to one-year deal

The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward A.J. Greer to a one-year contract for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Greer, 22, completed his third pro season in 2018-19, recording 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points in 54 games with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, along with one goal (his first career NHL tally) and one assist in 15 games with the Avalanche.

Greer also collected three assists in four Calder Cup Playoff games for the Eagles.

A second-round choice by Colorado in the 2015 NHL Draft, Greer has produced 42 goals and 53 assists in 152 regular-season games in the AHL with Colorado and San Antonio. He won the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award as the AHL’s Man of the Year for his community relations efforts in 2016-17.

Greer has skated in 37 career NHL games with Avalanche, totaling one goal and five assists.
