Avalanche sign Rissmiller

The Colorado Avalanche, parent club of the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters, announced Tuesday that the club has signed forward Patrick Rissmiller to a one-year deal.

Rissmiller played 57 AHL games between Chicago, Lake Erie and Rochester in 2010-11, totaling 14 goals and 27 assists for 41 points. He added one assist in 10 NHL games with Atlanta and Florida.

Originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on June 30, 2003, Rissmiller has played 474 AHL games during his nine professional seasons, tallying 112 goals and 211 assists for 323 points. The native of Belmont, Mass., participated in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2006 and 2010.

Rissmiller has also appeared in 192 career NHL games with San Jose, the N.Y. Rangers, Atlanta and Florida, tallying 46 points (18g, 28a). The left winger also skated in 30 Stanley Cup Playoff contests with San Jose from 2006-08, recording three goals and four assists.
