B-Sens get Lehner back from Ottawa

The Ottawa Senators announced today they have reassigned goaltender Robin Lehner to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Lehner, 21, served as Craig Anderson‘s back-up in each of Ottawa’s first two games this season. In 21 AHL contests in 2012-13, he has already established a new professional career high with 14 wins and currently ranks second among AHL goaltenders in save percentage (.945) and is third in goals-against-average (1.90).

The MVP of the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs after leading the Senators to their first championship, Lehner is in his third professional season after being selected by Ottawa in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Lehner has been chosen to participate in this weekend’s 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts AHL All-Star Classic.
