B-Sens gobble up Turkey Day win

Binghamton scored three times on seven shots in the first period and Jason Spezza crept closer to the top of the AHL’s scoring race as the Senators took a 3-2 decision from Bridgeport in the annual Thanksgiving night game at the Broome County Arena.

Spezza’s two assists give him 26 points on the year, third only to Manchester teammates Yanick Lehoux (30) and Mike Cammalleri (28).

Chris Kelly, Denis Hamel and Christoph Schubert scored to give Binghamton a 3-0 lead less than 13 minutes into the game.

Kevin Colley and Rob Collins answered for the Sound Tigers, but Ray Emery finished with 34 saves as the Sens hung on.

With the win, Binghamton held onto fourth place in the East Division, now three points ahead of Bridgeport.
