Baby, Stewart lead Wolves past Rampage

Stephen Baby scored one goal and assisted on another as Chicago posted a 2-1 win over San Antonio at Allstate Arena on Wednesday night.

Baby, who was scoreless in his first 10 games of the season, now has five points in five games during December.

Tuomas Tarkki made 19 saves to improve to 4-2-1 on the year.

Karl Stewart also had a goal and an assist for the Wolves, recording the winning score with 1:37 left in the second period.

Tim Jackman had the only goal for the Rampage, who got 31 saves from Brian Boucher.

Chicago has now earned a point in four straight games (3-0-0-1), while San Antonio had its three-game winning streak snapped.

Al Montoya returned from a broken finger and made 29 saves, including a stop on a Brad Smyth penalty shot, as Hartford improved to 6-0-1-2 in its last nine games with a 4-1 win over Manchester… Ryane Clowe scored twice and Patrick Rissmiller registered a goal and two assists to help Cleveland to a 4-2 win over Rochester… Martin Sagat scored twice and Tyler Beechey chipped in with a goal and two assists as Toronto posted a 5-0 win over Grand Rapids… Milwaukee’s Darren Haydar and Omaha’s David Moss each scored twice in regulation, but the Admirals shook off a Knights comeback and posted a 5-4 shootout win… Greg Mauldin scored twice during a four-goal third period and Syracuse picked up five power-play goals on the night in a 7-4 defeat of Manitoba.
