Back at even, Monarchs edge P-Bruins 3-2

Gabe Gauthier’s first goal of the playoffs proved to be the game winner for the Monarchs, who defeated the Providence Bruins by a score of 3-2 at the Dunkin Donuts Center, evening the Atlantic Division Finals series at two games apiece.

Jason LaBarbera backstopped Manchester with 30 saves on the night, including stopping all 12 shots from Providence in the third period.

Gauthier tallied just 57 seconds into the third period to break the 2-2 tie as the Monarchs held off the P-Bruins to secure the win.

Jeff Giuliano scored shorthanded and Marty Murray netted his fifth goal of postseason for Manchester.

David Krejci and Jeff Hoggan provided goals for the P-Bruins in a losing effort.

The series shifts back to Manchester, where the two teams will face off in a pivotal Game 5 set for Saturday.
