Barracuda punch playoff ticket

The San Jose Barracuda became the first team to clinch a berth in the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs with a 3-1 win over Stockton on Saturday night.

Under head coach Roy Sommer, the Barracuda sit first in the overall AHL standings with a record of 38-13-2-4 (82 points, .719), including a mark of 19-2-1-1 in their last 23 outings.

The 16th and final team to secure a playoff spot last year, San Jose lost to Ontario in the first round in 2016.
