LOOKING AHEAD:
Chicago has outscored Omaha by a 23-6 count in winning four straight meetings, but the Knights can move into first place in the West Division with a regulation win over the Wolves on Friday night… Omaha has won seven in a row, one shy of the eight-game binge the Knights put together in October… Chicago has gone 3-7-0-2 in its last dozen games, but has earned points in four straight (2-0-0-2) as it makes the second stop on a nine-game road swing… Darren Haydar has picked up five goals and seven assists for 12 points in five games against Omaha this season.
Hershey and Norfolk did not open their 2006-07 season series until Dec. 6, but the East Division powers collide for the eighth and ninth times since then with a big home-and-home heading into the All-Star break… The home team has won six of the first seven meetings this season, no real surprise as the clubs are a combined 35-2-5-4 on their respective home rinks in 2006-07… The Bears are 4-1-0-1 in their last six outings overall, and enter the weekend one point behind the Admirals atop the overall league standings… Dave Steckel has five goals and an assist in his last four games for Hershey, but has just one assist in six outings against Norfolk this year… Martin St. Pierre is on a four-game scoring run for the Ads (2g, 6a).
Providence and Portland go at it again at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Friday night, the ninth meeting of the season between the rivals… The Bruins are 7-0-0-1 in their last eight games, including a home-and-home sweep of the Pirates last weekend… David Krejci has points in all eight of those games for Providence (7g, 8a), while Kris Versteeg has added 13 points (5g, 8a)… Versteeg and Pascal Pelletier lead all scorers with 12 points each in the season series, which has seen each team win four games to date… Portland is 3-9-0-2 since Dec. 23, with all 14 games coming against Atlantic Division foes… Matt Keith has a goal and four assists in his last three games for the Pirates.
