Bears creep closer to Finals with Game 3 win

The Hershey Bears are one win away from a return to the Calder Cup Final following Wednesday night’s 4-1 victory over the Manchester Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

The Bears now hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Final, and can secure their 20th trip to the AHL’s championship series with another win in Game 4 on Saturday.

Tomas Fleischmann and Kyle Wilson led the offense with a goal and two assists each. Mike Green picked up a goal to extend his scoring streak to five games (4g, 4a), and Chad Wiseman rounded out the scoring.

Frederic Cassivi (11-2) made 34 saves as he and the Bears won for the 27th time in 34 games over the last two postseasons.

Peter Harrold tallied the lone goal for the Monarchs, breaking up Cassivi’s shutout bid with 3:36 remaining in the game.
