Beleskey heads to Rangers organization

The New York Rangers have acquired forwards Matt Beleskey and Ryan Spooner, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, a 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2019 seventh-round draft pick from the Boston Bruins in exchange for forward Rick Nash.

Beleskey has recorded four goals and two assists in 21 AHL games with the Providence Bruins this season. He has been assigned by the Rangers to the Hartford Wolf Pack, who play in Providence this afternoon.

In 124 career AHL games with Providence, Norfolk, Syracuse, San Antonio, Toronto and Iowa, Beleskey has totaled 29 goals and 44 assists for 73 points.

A fourth-round draft pick by Anaheim in 2006, Beleskey has played 472 games in the National Hockey League with Boston and Anaheim, including 14 with the Bruins in 2017-18. He has recorded 75 goals and 82 assists in his NHL career.

Lindgren, 20, was a second-round draft pick by Boston in 2016. He is currently in his sophomore season at the University of Minnesota.
