Blackhawks add Low

The Chicago Blackhawks, parent club of the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, announced on Thursday that the team has signed right wing Reed Low to a one-year contract.

Low, 30, had been in the St. Louis Blues organization since his rookie season of 1997-98. Last year, he tallied three goals, five assists and 40 penalty minutes in 20 AHL games with the Peoria Rivermen.

For his career, Low has totaled 21 goals and 28 assists for 49 points, to go with 557 PIM, in 194 AHL games with Peoria and Worcester.

The 6-foot-4, 227-pound winger has recorded three goals, 16 assists and 694 PIM in 250 NHL games with the Blues.
