The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have recalled left wing Brandon Prust and center Dustin Boyd.

It is the first career NHL recall for both players. Prust and Boyd will join the Flames on their three-game road trip which begins Wednesday in Detroit.

Boyd leads the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in scoring with four goals and nine assists for 13 points in nine games. He is second in AHL rookie scoring and assists. His three game-winning goals are tied for first overall in the league.

The native of Winnipeg was the Flames’ third-round pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Prust is currently tied for fourth in team scoring with two goals and four assists for six points. He has a team leading 30 penalty minutes and is tied for the team lead among forwards with a plus-6 plus/minus ratio.

Prust was chosen by the Flames in the third round, 70th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
