The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced Friday that defenseman Jon Landry has agreed to terms on a one-year, American Hockey League contract through the rest of 2016-17. He initially signed a Professional Tryout (PTO) in October and has played 16 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

Landry, 33, currently ranks second on the club’s roster in scoring among defensemen. He notched eight points (one goal, seven assists) in his first 16 games and also leads all Bridgeport players with a plus-13 rating.

A native of Montreal, Landry is in his fifth full season in the American Hockey League, collecting 119 points (21 goals, 98 assists) in 285 games. The veteran defenseman notched 16 points (seven goals, 19 assists) and 38 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Utica Comets last season and has also played with the Iowa Wild and Hershey Bears. In addition, Landry spent 106 games with the Sound Tigers from 2011-13 and served as an alternate captain during the 2012-13 campaign.
