The Chicago Blackhawks, parent club of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs, have acquired forward Maxime Sauve from the Boston Bruins, parent club of the AHL’s Providence Bruins, in exchange for forward Rob Flick.
Sauve, 23, has recorded 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 52 games this season with the Providence Bruins. He has posted a season-high two points on six occasions, including a season-best two goals on Feb. 1 vs. Albany.
The 6-foot, 185-pound center has appeared in one career game with Boston, making his NHL debut on Mar. 11, 2012, at Pittsburgh, and has posted 89 points (44g, 45a) in 158 AHL games with Providence.
The Tours, France, native was originally selected by Boston in the second round, 47th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Flick, 22, has notched five points (3g, 2a) in 51 games with Rockford this season. He appeared in 45 games with the IceHogs in 2011-12, posting 13 points (7g, 6a) during his first AHL campaign.
The London, Ont., native was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the fourth round, 120th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
