Bulldogs’ Baines, Andlauer helping fight diabetes

In recognition of the inaugural World Diabetes Day yesterday, the Hamilton Bulldogs are proud to announce that forward Ajay Baines has won the 2007 Canadian Diabetes Association’s Regional Inspiration Award. The hockey club also announced that Majority Owner and Chairman Michael Andlauer, through the Bulldogs Foundation, has donated $10,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Baines, a 29-year-old native of Kamloops, British Columbia, has suffered from Type 1 diabetes since the age of 16 and wears an insulin pump at all times on the ice.
