The Laval Rocket announced today the appointment of Alexandre Burrows as their new assistant coach.

Burrows joins Daniel Jacob and Marco Marciano to complete the Laval Rocket staff under new head coach Joel Bouchard for the 2018-19 season.

“We are very lucky to have a candidate of Alex’s caliber join our new coaching staff” said Bouchard. “His recent experience as an NHL player and the extent of his background in professional hockey will prove to be excellent assets for the development of our players.”

A native of the Montreal suburb of Pincourt, Que., the 37-year-old Burrows joins Laval following his retirement after 16 years of professional hockey, including 13 National Hockey League seasons with the Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators. Burrows also played 107 games in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose before going on to appear in 913 NHL contests, collecting 205 goals and 204 assists for 409 points.
