Canadiens, McCarron agree to terms for 2019-20

The Montreal Canadiens announced on Saturday that they have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with forward Michael McCarron.

McCarron, the Canadiens’ first-round choice (25th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft, appeared in 32 games with the AHL’s Laval Rocket last season, recording seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points.

The 24-year-old McCarron enters his fifth pro season in 2019-20 having skated in 176 AHL games with Laval and St. John’s, totaling 38 goals and 64 assists for 102 points.

McCarron has also played 69 regular-season NHL games with the Canadiens, notching two goals and six assists for eight points. He made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in 2017, appearing in one contest.
