The Vancouver Canucks have acquired forward Francis Perron and a seventh-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Tom Pyatt and a 2019 sixth-round pick.

Perron, 23, set career highs with 18 goals, 29 assists and 47 points in 63 games for the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda in 2018-19, and earned a selection to participate in the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic.

Acquired by the Sharks from Ottawa as part of the deal that also sent Erik Karlsson to San Jose, Perron has totaled 28 goals and 60 assists in 175 career AHL contests with San Jose, Belleville and Binghamton.

The native of Laval, Que., was selected by Ottawa in the seventh round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Pyatt, 32, tallied six goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 36 AHL games with the Utica Comets last season, his first AHL stint in nine years. The native of Thunder Bay, Ont., also had two assists in 37 NHL games with Ottawa before joining the Canucks organization.

A 2005 draft pick by the New York Rangers, Pyatt has compiled 43 goals and 58 assists for 101 points in 445 career NHL games with Montreal, Tampa Bay and Ottawa.

Pyatt has skated in 192 AHL games with Utica, Hamilton and Hartford, recording 38 goals and 64 assists for 102 points.
