Canucks get Goldobin from San Jose

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired left wing Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2017 from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Jannik Hansen.

Goldobin, 21, has appeared in 46 games for the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda this season, recording 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points and ranking third on the team in scoring. He also played two games for the Sharks in 2016-17.

The Moscow, Russia, native has appeared in 11 career NHL games, notching one goal and one assist. In 115 AHL contests, the second-year pro has 39 goals and 51 assists for 90 points.

Goldobin was originally selected in the first round (27th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by San Jose.
