Canucks pick up Gordon from Ducks

The Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, have acquired right wing Andrew Gordon from the Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch, in exchange for defenseman Sebastian Erixon.

Gordon, 26, has registered five points (2-3-5) and six penalty minutes with the Anaheim Ducks this season. In 19 games with the AHL Syracuse Crunch this season, he has collected eight points (3-5-8) and 10 penalty minutes.

The Halifax, N.S., native has played 286 career AHL games with Syracuse and Hershey, registering 105 goals and 127 assists for 232 points. He won Calder Cup championships with the Bears in 2009 and 2010.

Gordon has also collected seven points (3-4-7) in 49 career NHL games with the Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks.

Erixon, 22, had one goal and seven assists in 30 games with the Wolves this season, his first in North America. The native of Sundsvall, Sweden, played for Timra IK in the Swedish elite league.
