Canucks re-sign Grenier

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced Friday that the Canucks have re-signed right wing Alexandre Grenier to a one-year deal.

 

Grenier, 23, appeared in his second season with the Utica Comets in 2014-15, collecting a career-high in points (43) and assists (26). He finished the season ranked second on the team in goals (17) and assists, and tied for second in points. Grenier also tied for second for the team lead in scoring during the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs, registering 15 points (6-9-15) in 23 games played.
 
The 6’3”, 206-pound forward has appeared in 139 career AHL regular season games split with the Utica Comets and Chicago Wolves, registering 82 points (34-48-82) and 129 penalty minutes. The Laval, Quebec native was originally drafted by Vancouver in the third round, 90th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
