Canucks sign forward Pelletier

The Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Utica Comets, announced Sunday that they have signed left wing Pascal Pelletier.

Pelletier, 30, has spent the last three seasons in Switzerland playing for Langnau. He has played 357 games in the AHL with Providence, Rockford, Syracuse and Peoria (2005-10), totaling 117 goals and 166 assists for 283 points. Pelletier also has 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points in 33 career Calder Cup Playoff matches.

Pelletier was named a First Team AHL All-Star in 2007-08, when he set career highs in goals (37), points (75) and plus/minus (+20) with the Providence Bruins.

A native of Labrador City, N.L., Pelletier has played in 13 career NHL games with Chicago and Boston.
