Chipchura returns to Bulldogs

ham_200.jpgMontreal Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Kyle Chipchura has been assigned from the Canadiens to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

The Bulldogs’ captain is scheduled to be available for tonight’s game in Syracuse.

Chipchura, 23, has played in a total of 33 games for Hamilton in 2008-2009, recording 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) along with 29 penalty minutes. This season, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound center has played in 13 games with the Canadiens, recording three assists and five penalty minutes.

Currently in his third professional season, the Westlock, Alta., native was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round, 18th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
