Chops cruise past Rampage, 6-1

A three-goal second period helped Iowa to a 6-1 victory over visiting San Antonio on Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Arena. Iowa extended its overall winning streak to three games and improved to 3-1-0-0 against the Rampage this season.

Bobby Ryan posted two goals and an assist for the Chops, and Josh Green chipped in with a goal and two assists in the winning effort.

Eric Boguniecki tallied the first period’s lone goal to give the Chops a 1-0 advantage.

Ryan, Green, and Ajay Baines all scored in the middle stanza, and Troy Bodie added a marker midway through the third.

Chops goaltender Jean-Philippe Levasseur earned the victory with 24 saves on the night.

The Rampage finally got on the board 11:41 into the third period when Enver Lisin potted his second goal of the campaign. San Antonio has now lost eight straight games (0-7-0-1).
