Columbus picks up MacMillan

The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the parent Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Jeff MacMillan to a one-year contract.

MacMillan, 26, appeared in 71 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack last season, recording two goals, five assists and 136 penalty minutes. In 299 career AHL games with Utah and Hartford, MacMillan has tallied 20 goals, 27 assists and 522 penalty minutes.

He has also appeared in four career NHL games, all with Dallas, making his NHL debut on Dec.7, 2003, at Anaheim.

A native of Durham, Ont., MacMillan was originally selected by Dallas in the seventh round, 215th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
