Columbus signs Audy-Marchessault

The Columbus Blue Jackets, parent club of the AHL’s Springfield Falcons, have signed left wing Jonathan Audy-Marchessault to a standard three-year entry level contract

Audy-Marchessault made his professional debut with the AHL’s Connecticut Whale in 2011-12 and recorded 24 goals and 40 assists for 64 points with 54 penalty minutes and a plus-1 plus/minus rating in 76 games. He led the club in assists and power-play goals and tied for the team lead in points, and ranked third in the AHL in rookie scoring.

Audy-Marchessault, who represented the Whale at the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic, added four goals in nine Calder Cup Playoff games.

The 21-year-old native of Cap-Rouge, Que., played four seasons with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2007-11.
