Comets bringing back Archibald

The Utica Comets announced today that the club has signed forward Darren Archibald to an American Hockey League contract for the 2017-18 season.

Archibald, 27, set a Comets franchise record with 23 goals and added 24 assists for 47 points in 76 games with the club last season. He also led the team with five game-winning goals, including three overtime winners.

Archibald ranks second in franchise history in games played (256), goals (57) and points (112), and first in penalty minutes with 363.

A veteran of 331 AHL games with Utica and Chicago, Archibald has totaled 70 goals and 65 assists for 135 points. He has also collected one goal and two assists in 16 career NHL games, all with Vancouver in 2013-14.
