Corazzini, Koci, Hendry sign with Hawks

The Chicago Blackhawks, parent club of the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, announced today the signings of center Carl Corazzini and defenseman David Koci to one-year deals and defenseman Jordan Hendry to a two-year deal.

Corazzini, 27, skated in 75 games for the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals in 2005-06, tallying 26 goals and 29 assists for 55 points, along with a plus-7 rating. His 55 points were good for fourth on the team.

Corazzini also registered 13 power-play goals in the regular season, and added two goals and two assists in four playoff contests.

Over five AHL seasons with Norfolk, Hershey and Providence, the native of Framingham, Mass., has registered 66 goals and 65 assists for 131 points in 291 games. He made his NHL debut with Boston in 2003-04, scoring two goals in 12 games.

Koci, 25, has played the last five seasons with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins after being drafted by Pittsburgh in 2000. The 6-foot-6, 236-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic, was limited to 13 games last season due to injury, recording no points and 59 penalty minutes.

In 194 career AHL games, all with the Penguins, Koci has tallied three goals, 19 assists and 770 PIM.

Hendry, 22, made his professional debut with Norfolk last spring after a four-year career at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. He recorded one goal and four assists and a plus-7 rating in 13 games for the Admirals.

An alternate captain his last two years at UAF, Hendry totaled 36 points (11g, 25a) in 112 games for the Nanooks.
