Coyotes assign 12 to Utah

The Utah Grizzlies’ National Hockey League affiliate, the Phoenix Coyotes, announced on Monday that they have assigned 12 players to the Grizzlies. Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett made the announcement.

Assigned to Utah were goaltender David LeNeveu; defensemen Igor Knyazev, Nikos Tselios and Matthew Spiller; and forwards Jason Jaspers, Sheldon Keefe, Ladislav Kouba, Frantisek Lukes, Darren McLachlan, Tyler Redenbach, Fredrik Sjostrom and Jeff Taffe.

The Grizzlies will open their training camp on Sept. 29 in Salt Lake City, and will play their first preseason game versus the Edmonton Road Runners on Oct. 8 in Boise, Idaho.

The Grizzlies will play their first regular season game on Oct. 13 versus Cincinnati.
