The Syracuse Crunch clinched a spot in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs on Saturday night, becoming the second entrant in the 16-team field.

The Crunch defeated Utica, 6-2, while Belleville lost to Bridgeport, wrapping up Syracuse’s third consecutive trip to the playoffs.

Syracuse, currently first in the North Division, has now qualified for the postseason five times in seven seasons as the top affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Crunch reached the Calder Cup Finals in 2013 and 2017.
