Crunch sign Aulie to AHL deal

The Syracuse Crunch have signed defenseman Keith Aulie to an AHL contract, the team announced today.

Aulie, 23, won the Calder Cup with the Norfolk Admirals last season skating in 18 playoff games, recording six points (1g, 5a) and 10 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-6, 217-pound blueliner skated in 26 regular-season AHL games between Norfolk and Toronto in 2011-12, totaling three assists. He also notched three assists in 36 NHL games with Tampa Bay and Toronto last season.

The Regina, Sask., native has played in 76 career NHL games, recording five points (2g, 3a) to go along with 61 penalty minutes. Aulie has also skated in 110 career AHL games with Norfolk, Toronto and Abbotsford, posting 18 points (5g, 13a).

Aulie was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
