Dallas signs Kero, Scarlett

The Dallas Stars have signed center Tanner Kero to a two-year, two-way contract and defenseman Reece Scarlett to a one-year, two-way contract.

Kero, 26, notched 24 goals and 33 assists for 57 points — all career highs — in 67 games with the AHL’s Utica Comets in 2018-19, his fourth pro campaign.

Kero has totaled 64 goals and 77 assists for 141 points in 197 career AHL games with Utica and Rockford.

In 72 NHL games with Chicago, Kero has recorded eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points.

Scarlett, 26, skated in one game with the AHL’s Texas Stars in 2018-19, suffering a season-ending knee injury on opening night.

Scarlett has registered 19 goals and 83 assists for 102 points in 274 career regular-season AHL contests with Texas, Springfield and Albany.
