Dalpe joining Monsters

The Columbus Blue Jackets have claimed center Zac Dalpe off waivers from the Minnesota Wild and assigned him to the American Hockey League’s Cleveland Monsters.

Dalpe, 27, has two goals in 12 AHL games with the Iowa Wild this season, along with one goal and two assists in nine NHL games with Minnesota.

The Paris, Ont., native has tallied 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points in 128 career NHL games with Minnesota, Buffalo, Vancouver and Carolina. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound center has also collected 89 goals and 87 assists for 176 points in 250 career AHL games with Iowa, Rochester, Utica, Charlotte and the Albany River Rats.

Originally Carolina’s second-round pick, 45th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft, Dalpe played two seasons at Ohio State University from 2008-10.
