DaSilva re-signs with Worcester

Worcester Sharks general manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the team has re-signed forward Dan DaSilva to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

DaSilva, 25, played 72 games with Worcester last season recording a personal high 53 points (21 goals, 32 assists) along with 65 penalty minutes. He also added eight points (2g, 6a) and eight penalty minutes in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games.

DaSilva is the all-time Worcester Sharks playoff points leader with 18 points (5g, 13a) in 23 Calder Cup Playoff games.

“Dan was a huge part of the Worcester Sharks on both sides of the red line last season,” said Thomas. “We look forward to him to continue his growth as a player with the Worcester Sharks.”

DaSilva has appeared in 220 career American Hockey League games over five professional seasosn, posting 113 points (50 goals, 63 assists) and 202 penalty minutes.

The Saskatoon, Sask., native was originally signed by Worcester as a free agent on Oct 24, 2008.
